I hand-painted this sunset in a class with Micky Lawler of SkyDyes. The scene is the entrance to Egypt Bay in Hancock, Maine. Using purple, black and dark green, I thread-painted the trees to light them from the back, then stitched them behind the 3-dimensional quilted rocks.
